Des Moines, Iowa (February 15, 2012) Jason Craig and Amanda Wachuta were recently elected shareholders at Ahlers & Cooney, P.C. For nearly 125 years, Ahlers & Cooney has been providing comprehensive legal services to local, state, national and international businesses, educational institutions and municipalities.
Jason Craig is a member of the Firm’s Litigation, Dispute Resolution & Investigations practice group. Jason has been practicing civil litigation since his graduation from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2004. After law school, Jason worked for a litigation firm in Cedar Rapids focusing primarily on defending insurance companies. Since joining the Ahlers & Cooney firm in 2007, Jason has represented clients in a wide variety of business and commercial litigation matters, including cases involving business torts, contract disputes, real estate, banking and finance, insurance coverage, and securities.
Amanda Wachuta is a member of the firm’s Employment & Labor Law, Litigation, and Higher Education practice areas. She first came to the firm in 2003 as a law clerk until graduating from Drake Law School in 2004. After graduation, Amanda served as the judicial law clerk of Iowa Supreme Court Justice Mark S. Cady for two years. Following her clerkship, Amanda joined the firm in 2006. Amanda works primarily in the Employment & Labor Law practice area, assisting clients with employment policy drafting and review, risk assessment and management, defense of administrative complaints before federal, state, and local civil rights and labor agencies, as well as litigation in state and federal court. She also supports the firm in other areas of litigation, as well as the firm’s higher education clients with compliance issues and various student, faculty and business issues.
