Our attorneys at Ahlers & Cooney find their work with Education Law extremely rewarding as it impacts the future of our communities and society at large – our children.

For K-12 Education, we work closely with school boards and administrators for all of their legal and bond issuance needs. We represent over 250 school districts statewide, ranging from a school district with 200 students to the 10 largest districts in the state.

For Higher Education, we serve as general counsel and bond counsel to a number of Iowa’s private colleges, universities, and community colleges across the state and as bond counsel to Iowa’s public universities, which are governed by the Board of Regents.

Government Law

We understand Iowa’s cities, counties, municipal utilities, and other public bodies require comprehensive representation. Our attorneys work with clients to resolve disputes and avoid litigation and conflict. If necessary, however, we have experienced municipal litigators to represent our clients’ interests before administrative agencies and in State or Federal courts.

Our attorneys also serve as bond counsel for cities, counties and municipal utilities.
