Attorneys Jeremy Masterson & R. Charles Bottenberg, who founded the Masterson & Bottenberg Law Firm in 2013, are joining the Ahlers & Cooney law firm as Special Counsel, effective October 1, 2020.
Charlie will work in the Trusts, Estates & Personal Taxation Practice Group at Ahlers & Cooney. Charlie grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and attended Drake University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology. He then attended Drake Law School, where he was a member of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, gained experience as a student attorney in the Low Income Taxpayer area of the Drake Legal Clinic, and was a law clerk at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Charlie completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Iowa State University.
Jeremy will focus his work with the Ahlers' Business Entities Practice Group. Jeremy is a native of Des Moines, and upon graduation, served eight years in the service, being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 2011. He graduated from Drake Law School and has an undergraduate degree in Finance from Upper Iowa University. While at Drake Law School, Jeremy co-founded the Drake Business Law Society and helped provide support for a newly created Business Law Certificate. He interned for the Honorable Richard G. Blane II during the summer of his first year.
