August 1, 2008

We want to remind you that one week ago, on July 24, 2008, the federal minimum wage increased from $5.85 to $6.55 per hour.  Of course, Iowa's state minimum wage has been $7.25 since January 12, 2008, but you should be aware of the federal minimum wage for any employees you have working in other states.  Additionally, you should have the attached posters posted in your places of employment.

If you have any questions about wage and hour issues, or about any other matter, please contact a member of Ahlers & Cooney’s Employment Practice Group.
