*For Sales Tax Revenue Bonds, a school should hold the public hearing on the issuance of those Bonds PRIOR to awarding a construction contract for the project funded with the Bond proceeds. For example, if the District intends to issue the Bonds in January through March of 2024, and award construction contracts with a start date of summer, 2024, the District should be holding the public hearing in July/August of 2023, so if a petition requesting an election on the issuance of Bonds is filed, the election may be held on November 7, 2023. If the public hearing process is held at a later time and a petition requesting an election is filed, that election may not be held until November 5, 2024.
