Kristin Cooper joined the firm in 2011 and works in the Public Law Practice Area. Her main focus is guiding cities and counties through the process of issuing municipal bonds, including revenue, general obligation, special assessment, urban renewal and other types of taxable and tax-exempt municipal bonds. In addition to serving as bond counsel for public entities, Kristin also assists municipalities with economic development and urban renewal matters, special assessments and contract bidding.

Prior to joining the firm, Kristin worked as a legal intern for the Honorable Celeste F. Bremer at the Southern District of Iowa, and then as a summer associate with the firm. Prior to law school, Kristin assisted real estate clients as a commercial real estate agent, providing services in buying, selling, and leasing commercial real estate. Kristin’s experience in the real estate industry provided her with an excellent background for assisting clients with comprehensive and dedicated representation in business and real estate transactions.

Kristin graduated from Drake University Law School and Central College. At Central, Kristin earned B.A. degrees in both political science and piano performance. During law school, Kristin was an academic scholarship recipient and a member of the Drake Law Review.
