Des Moines, Iowa (August 1, 2014)   Attorney Jim Hanks has been named Chair of the American Bar Association’s State and Local Government Law Section. The Section's focus is on issues relating to urban, state and local governmental law and policy.  Lawyers across the country are members of the Section.

Jim has been an active member in the Section for many years and will now lead this group of esteemed lawyers.  Jim will be honored on Friday, August 8, 2014 in Boston.

Jim's practice within the state of Iowa includes advising and representing school districts, cities and counties in collective bargaining, labor relations and local governmental law.Jim graduated from the University of Iowa Law School in 1975.  He has been selected for inclusion by Best Lawyers/U.S. News annually since 1995 for Employment & Labor Law.  He is also recognized by Chambers USA for his work in Labor & Employment Law in Iowa.
