This disclosure is required by rule of the Supreme Court of Iowa. Ahlers & Cooney P.C. Ahlers & Cooney, a Professional Corporation, and its predecessor partnerships have been practicing law in Des Moines, Iowa, since 1887. Lawyers in the Firm hold law degrees from the Cornell, Drake, Georgetown, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, Valparaiso, and Washburn law schools. The Firm provides a wide range of legal services to state, national and international clients. Lawyers in the Firm are assisted by a firm administrator, law clerks, legal assistants and approximately thirty support staff personnel. The Firm maintains an extensive local area network system with document management and other practice-specific software to assist in cost effective preparation of work product for clients. The Firm is organized into six practice areas. The practice groups are: Business Law, General Litigation, Public Finance, Local Government Law, Environmental Law and Employment Law. Each group has members experienced in litigation. Attorneys in the Firm hold distinguished academic credentials and some have judicial, legislative and executive experience. Firm members have published articles and other legal reference material in both state and national publications. Many have served as instructors for continuing legal education and other professional education programs and as adjunct professors at the university level. In recognition of the quality of its services, the Firm receives frequent referrals and requests for assistance from colleagues in the legal, accounting, education and insurance professions. As part of the Firm's commitment to the legal profession, Firm attorneys serve in numerous positions in local, state and national bar associations. The Firm is located at 100 Court Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. The 100 Court Avenue Building is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been renovated as a historic landmark. The Firm's offices and meeting rooms occupy the top two floors of the building which is served by ample parking and fine restaurants nearby.
