Ivan T. Webber was born in Hayward, California. He received
his B.A. with honors in political science from the University of Iowa in 1969 and his J.D. with distinction in
1973. He was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1973.
He is a member of the Firm's Local Government Law and Public Finance departments. From 1986 until he joined the
Firm in 1989, he served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Des Moines. He was in private practice in Keokuk
from 1973 to 1986. From 1979 until 1986, he was a member of the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial
Lawyers of Iowa and was named outstanding member of the association for 1981-82. He has served on the Iowa State
Bar Committee on Specialization from 1980-1989 and was vice chair in 1988. He served as Chair of the Government
Practice Section of the Iowa State Bar Association from 1997 to 1999 and was Chair of the Rules Committee of the
Litigation Section from 1996 to 1997.
He is a member of the Iowa Trial Lawyers, the Iowa Municipal Attorneys Association and the International Municipal
Lawyers Association. He is the author of the book, "Making Objections and Laying Foundations in Iowa." |
