Edward W. Remsburg was born in Lake City, Iowa. He attended the
University of Iowa and received his B.B.A., with highest distinction in 1970 and his J.D., with high distinction
in 1973. He was a member of the Board of Editors, Iowa Law Review, 1972 and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Eta
Sigma, Order of the Coif and Phi Delta Phi.
He is a member of the Firm's Local Government Law and Employment Law and General Litigation departments. Prior
to joining the Firm he was law clerk to Judge Roy L. Stephenson, U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit, 1976-78 and
served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1976, Lt. JAGC.
He is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State and American Bar Associations. He is a Master Emeritus in the C.
Edwin Moore American Inn of Court and past president. He has also served on the Federal Practice Committee of the
U. S. District Court, Southern District of Iowa and the Federal Practice Committee, the Professionalism Committee
and the Trade Regulation Committee of the Iowa State Bar Association.
He is the co-author of "Contemporary Studies Project: Perspectives on the Administration of Criminal Justice
in Iowa", Vol. 57, Iowa L. Rev., 1972 and General Overview of Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11, Vol. 38,
Drake L. Rev., 261 (1988-89). He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. |
